About Stronelairg

Stronelairg is an onshore wind farm in Highland, Scotland, with 228 MW of generating capacity across 3 balancing mechanism units: Elexon registers them at 324 MW in all, but SSE gives it 228 MW, and that is the capacity this page uses. It is the 36th largest of the 163 wind farms in GridMonkey's list of Britain's wind farms that report to Elexon, and is operated or mostly owned by SSE. Every half hour it tells the grid how much it will generate (its physical notification). That is the live figure above, and GridMonkey has recorded it every half hour since 17 October 2026 for the chart.

The government's Renewable Energy Planning Database lists Stronelairg as operational since December 2018, with 66 turbines of 3.45 MW, up to 135 m tall to the blade tip.
