About Dogger Bank A

Dogger Bank A is an offshore wind farm off the coast of England, with 1,200 MW of registered generating capacity across 5 balancing mechanism units. It is the 3rd largest of the 163 wind farms in GridMonkey's list of Britain's wind farms that report to Elexon, and is operated or mostly owned by SSE. Every half hour it tells the grid how much it will generate (its physical notification). That is the live figure above, and GridMonkey has recorded it every half hour since 17 October 2026 for the chart.

Dogger Bank A is still being commissioned: it first sent power to the grid in October 2023 and all 95 of its turbines were in place by February 2026, but SSE, which is building it, said in July 2026 that commissioning work continues. The league table lists it without a rank until it is running in full.

The government's Renewable Energy Planning Database lists Dogger Bank A & B together as under construction in the July 2026 edition, with turbines up to 260 m tall to the blade tip. Dogger Bank Wind Farm gives Dogger Bank A alone 95 turbines of 13 MW.
