About Beatrice
Beatrice is an offshore wind farm off the coast of Scotland, with 588 MW of generating capacity across 4 balancing mechanism units: Elexon registers them at 682 MW in all, but SSE gives it 588 MW, and that is the capacity this page uses. It is the 16th largest of the 163 wind farms in GridMonkey's list of Britain's wind farms that report to Elexon, and is operated or mostly owned by SSE. Every half hour it tells the grid how much it will generate (its physical notification). That is the live figure above, and GridMonkey has recorded it every half hour since 17 October 2026 for the chart.
The government's Renewable Energy Planning Database lists Beatrice as operational since August 2019, with 84 turbines of 7 MW.
