About Hornsea 3

Hornsea 3 is an offshore wind farm off the coast of England, with 330 MW of registered generating capacity across one balancing mechanism unit. It is the 27th largest of the 163 wind farms in GridMonkey's list of Britain's wind farms that report to Elexon, and is operated or mostly owned by Ørsted. Every half hour it tells the grid how much it will generate (its physical notification). That is the live figure above, and GridMonkey has recorded it every half hour since it was added to the list in October 2026 for the chart.

Hornsea 3 is still being built: Ørsted expects its 197 turbines (2,955 MW) to be complete around the end of 2027. Elexon registers 330 MW of it so far, and it had sent no power by late October 2026. The league table lists it without a rank until it is running in full.

The government's Renewable Energy Planning Database lists Hornsea 3 as under construction in the July 2026 edition. Ørsted gives it 197 turbines of 15 MW.
