About Kilgallioch Extension

Kilgallioch Extension is an onshore wind farm in Dumfries and Galloway, Scotland, with 50 MW of generating capacity across one balancing mechanism unit: Elexon registers it at 225 MW, but REPD gives it 50 MW, and that is the capacity this page uses. It is the 99th largest of the 163 wind farms in GridMonkey's list of Britain's wind farms that report to Elexon, and is operated or mostly owned by ScottishPower. Every half hour it tells the grid how much it will generate (its physical notification). That is the live figure above, and GridMonkey has recorded it every half hour since it was added to the list in October 2026 for the chart.

Kilgallioch Extension, nine turbines next to Kilgallioch, is still being built: its first turbine went up in September 2025 and its first power reached the grid in December 2025, and ScottishPower Renewables has announced no completion. The league table lists it without a rank until it is running in full.

The government's Renewable Energy Planning Database lists Kilgallioch Extension as under construction in the July 2026 edition, with 9 turbines of 5.6 MW, up to 180 m tall to the blade tip.
