About Douglas West Extension
Douglas West Extension is an onshore wind farm in Strathclyde, Scotland, with 66 MW of registered generating capacity across one balancing mechanism unit. It is the 80th largest of the 163 wind farms in GridMonkey's list of Britain's wind farms that report to Elexon, and is operated or mostly owned by Capital Dynamics. Every half hour it tells the grid how much it will generate (its physical notification). That is the live figure above, and GridMonkey has recorded it every half hour since 17 October 2026 for the chart.
The government's Renewable Energy Planning Database lists Douglas West Extension as under construction in the July 2026 edition (it may already be generating some of its output), with turbines up to 200 m tall to the blade tip. Capital Dynamics gives it 12 Nordex N149 turbines.
