About Broken Cross

Broken Cross is an onshore wind farm in Lanarkshire, Scotland, with 43 MW of generating capacity across one balancing mechanism unit: Elexon registers it at 48 MW, but BayWa r.e. gives it 43 MW, and that is the capacity this page uses. It is the 111th largest of the 163 wind farms in GridMonkey's list of Britain's wind farms that report to Elexon, and is operated or mostly owned by ERG. Every half hour it tells the grid how much it will generate (its physical notification). That is the live figure above, and GridMonkey has recorded it every half hour since 17 October 2026 for the chart.

The government's Renewable Energy Planning Database lists Broken Cross as operational since October 2024, with 10 turbines, up to 150 m tall to the blade tip.
