💡 Save money by bundling: one report covers any number of identical plots for one fee — group dwellings that share the same sanitaryware into a single type and list the plots it covers. Extra types in the same report are only £15 +VAT each.
Presets fill the selected dwelling type with realistic starting values — then tweak to match the actual specification.
125 l/p/d is the standard requirement (Building Regulation 36 / AD G). 110 l/p/d applies where the optional requirement is imposed as a planning condition — check the decision notice.
Branded 2-page report for Building Control submission.
£25 +VAT first dwelling type · £15 +VAT each additional type (£30 / £18 inc VAT).

1. Project details
Fill in the project, client, reference and date — these appear on the report cover page.
2. Dwelling types
One type = one set of sanitaryware. It covers every plot with that spec — list them in “Plots covered”. Add or duplicate types for dwellings with different fittings (£15 +VAT each after the first).
3. Enter the fittings
Capacities and flow rates come from manufacturer product data (taps/showers at 3 bar for high-pressure systems). Use multi where several different fittings of one kind are specified — the calculator applies the official averaging rule (greater of the average and 70% of the highest). Unknown washing machine / dishwasher? Leave the AD G defaults (8.17 l/kg, 1.25 l/place setting).
4. Play until it passes
The result updates live. The right-hand panel shows where the water goes and what to change if you’re over target.
5. Export
Pay once per report — £25 +VAT for the first dwelling type, £15 +VAT for each additional type — and download a Building-Control-ready PDF. Minor corrections re-export free for 24 hours.
Method: The Water Efficiency Calculator for New Dwellings (DCLG, 2009), as required by Approved Document G / Building Regulation 36. The calculated figure is a compliance metric, not a prediction of actual use.
